Your hajj application is in. The agent says everything is fine. But days pass and you hear nothing. Was the visa issued? Where do you even look?
There is an official answer. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan each run public portals for this. You can check your hajj visa online in about two minutes, free of charge. No third party site is needed.
What is a hajj visa?
A hajj visa is a Saudi entry permit issued only for the hajj season. You cannot walk into an embassy and ask for one. It is issued through approved channels only: the Pakistan Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) for the government scheme, a licensed private operator, or the Saudi Nusuk platform where it applies.
The visa is tied to your passport number. That is what makes online checking possible. The same Saudi portal also shows work and visit visa statuses, which we covered in the guide to checking your Saudi visa status online.
1. The Saudi visa portal (visa.mofa.gov.sa)
This is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs platform, now called KSA Visa. It is free and needs no login.
- Open visa.mofa.gov.sa and pick Track Application.
- Select Passport Number from the dropdown.
- Enter your passport number and the order number your agent or operator gave you.
- Solve the captcha and press Enquiry.
You will see one of four results: Approved, Pending, Rejected, or No Record Found.
- Approved means the visa is ready.
- Pending means it is still under review.
- Rejected usually means a document problem or a data mismatch.
- No Record Found usually means the application was not uploaded yet, or you typed a number wrong.
If you do not have the order number, ask the agent who submitted your application. It is their job to give it to you.
2. The Nusuk hajj platform (hajj.nusuk.sa)
Nusuk is the official platform of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Many pilgrims register and book their packages here.
Log in with your account and open your application. The status sits next to your booking. Once the visa is approved, you can download and print it from the platform itself. No embassy visit needed for that step.
Nusuk shows its own set of statuses: New (received, no action needed), Under Process (being reviewed), Approved (visa issued, print a copy), and Send Passport to Embassy (you must submit your passport for the stamp).
3. Pakistan's hajj portal (hajj.mora.gov.pk)
Government scheme pilgrims in Pakistan track their application on the Hajj Management System run by MORA.
Go to hajj.mora.gov.pk and open Application Inquiry. Enter your application number, CNIC, or passport number. The page shows where your application stands, from submission to selection.
Biometrics come first
Here is the step people miss. Your hajj visa does not get marked as issued until your biometrics are done.
Saudi Arabia needs your face and fingerprints. You can submit them through the official Saudi Visa Bio app on your phone. It takes under ten minutes.
You will need a photo of your passport page, a live face photo, and fingerprint images. If the app does not work for you, Tasheer centres in Pakistan handle it as well.
Skip this step and your visa stays stuck on Under Process no matter how many times you check.
What you need before the visa is issued
These are the standing requirements from the Saudi health rules and the Pakistan government scheme.
- Passport valid for the whole hajj season. For hajj 2026 the passport had to be valid until at least 26 November 2026.
- Meningitis (ACYW) vaccine certificate, given at least 10 days before arrival. The polysaccharide shot is valid 3 years, the conjugate shot 5 years, per the official Saudi health guidelines.
- Polio vaccine for travellers from countries with circulating polio, given between 4 weeks and 12 months before entry.
- COVID-19 vaccination per the Kingdom approved list, for pilgrims aged 12 and above.
- Medical fitness certificate signed by a government hospital doctor. Private clinic certificates are not accepted.
- Age 12 or above. Saudi Arabia did not allow children under 12 for hajj 2026.
Women do not need a mehram for hajj 2026, per the Council of Islamic Ideology decision. They submit an affidavit saying their parents or husband allow the trip, they travel in a group of reliable families, and there is no threat to their dignity.
People barred from travel by a court, or on the Exit Control List, cannot go.

The Pakistan numbers for hajj
Pakistan's hajj quota is 179,210 pilgrims. For 2026 the split was 70 percent government scheme and 30 percent private operators, and the quota was fully used.
The government long package, 38 to 42 days with 8 to 10 days in Madina, cost between PKR 1,150,000 and 1,250,000 including qurbani, as set out in the official scheme FAQ of UBL, one of the designated banks. Dues were collected in two installments.
Pakistan has now approved its first four year hajj policy, covering 2027 to 2030. The split moves to 60 percent government and 40 percent private, with a fixed quota each year.
What to do when the status looks wrong
First, recheck the numbers. One wrong digit gives No Record Found.
Second, call the agent. If the application was never uploaded, nothing will show anywhere until it is.
Third, if documents were rejected, fix the mismatch and resubmit. Misspelled names and wrong dates of birth are the most common causes.
Never pay a third party website to check your visa. The official portals are free.
